Outdoor education is a part of our work with young people at the Den and is delivered by qualified individuals. It takes many different forms depending on the young people, location and needs such as -
Forest schools -
Detached work is about stepping outside, quite literally, meeting young people in their own spaces. Streets, parks, maybe bus stops, wherever they already hang out. It's about building trust without walls. No classroom desks, no formal stage, just solid presence. This is often delivered through our forest foundations/skills programme (which differs from our forest schools and has a separate risk assessment).
